The biggest gun crazed action stars finally come together to make one big “old school action movie”. Yes, I am talking about the movie “The Expendables”.
At Comic-Con 2010 in San Diego, some of the cast from the all-star movie came out to give a special look and some stories about the upcoming film. The panel was hosted by Harry Knowles and presented Terry Crews, Steve Austin, Dolph, Lundgren, Randy Couture, Sylvester Stallone, as well as a small appearance from Bruce Willis.
*SPOILER ALERT!*
Unfortunately, no new information about the movie was given at the panel, but they still showed off some awesome clips that had fans screaming off of their seats. The first clip, was a scene called “The Tunnel Fight” which had showed Stallone’s character battling off with Austin’s character. Then the scene shifts over to Statham’s character killing off the “bad guys” in the movie. And I must say Statham’s character is badass! I really can’t wait to see more of Statham’s moves in this movie. After Statham’s fight scene, the rest of the scene ends with Crews’ character then mows maybe a dozen of “badies” with his auto-shotgun.
*END SPOILER ALERT*

After the clips were shown, Stallone then talks about realism and how he wanted the movie to be as real as it can be. One of Stallone’s experiences he shared with the audience was when he mentioned that Steve Austin sent Stallone to numerous trips to the hospital from breaking his neck when shooting an intense scene. Another funny moment was when Crews discovered that their is no such thing as “movie fire” when almost being burned in the face in his description.
Stallone was questioned about 3D and why it wasn’t in the movie. Stallone, simply put, said that having a movie in 3D shows desperation and the fact that he wanted an old school/hardcore movie. With that said, the crowd seemed to agree and love his response about his thoughts on the topic of 3D.
Too be honest, I couldn’t agree more from what Stallone said. I believe 3D is great, but with so many films jumping on the 3D bandwagon it’s starting to become old. I am really happy to hear that “The Expendables” is being turned into a true hardcore action movie, and not into a new fad of 3D films.
Other than that, from the looks of the movie so far, I do believe that this is going to be an awesome film for both the old school audience, and for the new action movie lovers.
It you haven’t heard of this movie, the latest trailers is down below! Check it out! You will not be disappointed!
