Hey there everyone, I just wanted to bring you all the way back to 1995. Good times? Were you even born? Either way I wanted to bring to your attention a little show that you never knew about or it’ll make you reminisce. I am talking about the sketch comedy show called House of Buggin’. The show featured some familiar faces like John Leguizamo (also one of the creators), Luis Guzman, and David Herman (MADtv and Office Space). The thirty minute show only lasted ten episodes but from what I can remember they had a lot of Latino themed humor (IDMb.com). Now, let’s flash forward to the present day. I know the Arizona Law is hot button issue for many, no matter what political party you’re affiliated with. The Arizona Law may seem like a modern controversy but illegal immigration has been a debatable issue for years. But sometimes we just have to lighten up a bit and have a laugh. So check out this House of Buggin’ sketch that deals with the illegal immigration issue…Enjoy!
It has been quite a while since I’ve posted a VOTD and normally Midnyte posts most of them. This time I’d share a cool video with all you Whargarblers. First of all I’d to thank an anonymous friend of mine for showing me this video and telling me about this particular artist. Victor Wooten is a well known bass player and is in the band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. He’s done many bass clinics and has several bass guitar instructional dvds available. To learn more about Victor Wooten, head over to: http://www.victorwooten.com/
Moving on……this video was posted on Youtube July 3, 2006 and features Victor and his brother Regi Wooten in a slap bass/slap guitar face off/battle. Personally this video blew me away but feel free to comment on share your thoughts on this VOTD (video of the day)
I know we’ve been a little slow with our posts lately, in fact there hasn’t been one in a few days. This doesn’t mean we’re going anywhere though. This is yet another small bump on our road to making Whargarbl TV a better place to come to for your entertainment news, information and spot.
A few of us are still in the college scene so as the semester starts the most of us are trying to get our classes together and get everything settled with school. Others are slowly coming up with ideas on how to make Whargarbl TV run better and smoother. Also allowing us to free some of our time to contribute a bit more to the community and let our creative juices flow.
I want to thank all of you who have been coming back to the site daily or occasionally to check if there has been any updates, and I apologize for not having anything up just yet. It seems we may be under construction for a little bit, and I’m truly sorry for the mess. We will be back up and running soon. Thank you for your patience, and please check back again soon.
It has been many months since I’ve brought up the Ron Nonyes band. In fact the last time I spoke about them was on February 24, 2010. In case you missed the article, here’s the link: http://www.whargarbltv.com/2010/02/24/ron-noyes-band-to-release-4th-album/
Well they finally released their fourth album called “Dust Bowl Diary” this past weekend and is now available to be downloaded on ITunes. I’ve been listening to the audio samples and with everything I’ve heard so far, I strongly believe this is one album worth downloading. Keep an eye out for a review from me in the near future. In the meantime, please take the time to download a song or two from “Dust Bowl Diary”. Here’s the link and hope you enjoy: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dust-bowl-diary/id389603765

UPDATE August 31, 2010
thank you everyone for reading this article, but I would like to update this post by sharing a couple videos of the Ron Noyes Band. These two videos are from when the RNB performed at the Tupelo Music Hall on August 28th, 2010 in New Hampsire for a release party of their fourth album “Dust Bowl Diary”. The first song up is called “Meaculpa” which is the second track off the album:
The second song is called “Last To Know” which features John Popper (of Blues Traveler”) on harmonica. Unfortunately, John Popper was not able to be in this performance but he is featured on the studio recording. “Last To Know” is the fifth track on the album. Check it out and hope you enjoy:
Thanks again for reading this article and hope you decide to check out the Ron Noyes Band!
To you hard-core Metroid fans, I’m sure you’ve been following this particular news for a while. To those casual gamers who play on the Wii, let me bring you up to speed. It has been three years since Nintendo released Metroid: Prime 3 Corruption and a year since Metroid: Prime Trilogy This upcoming 31st, Nintendo will be releasing Metroid: Other M. “Other M” will be a game that will clearly stand on its own. According to Nintendo, they had A LOT to say about this game…here’s the oveview:
“For decades, Samus Aran has been known as one of the first female protagonists in video games, and one of the most enigmatic. Having traded her haunted past for the solitary life of a bounty hunter, Samus™ finally tells her own tale in this revealing, personal story of her failings, her flaws and ultimately her motivation. Metroid: Other M is an unprecedented collaboration that blends the slick, action-packed production of the world-renowned Team Ninja development team with the game design talents of the creators of the original Metroid. Metroid: Other M is a dramatic new direction for a legendary franchise and a bold new blend between cinematics, storytelling and the best in interactive entertainment.
-Metroid: Other M takes the best elements of 1st-person and 3rd-person gaming to create a seamless blend between gameplay, story-telling and dynamic cinematography, that feels like a movie the player can control.Players hold the Wii Remote controller sideways while navigating and battling in 3rd-person. However, at any moment, players can switch immediately to Wii Remote pointer controls to examine and explore the environments in 1st-person perspective.
-Metroid fans know more about Samus’ suits and weapons than they do about what drives her. That’s about to change. The story begins immediately following the events of Super Metroid, when a baby Metroid gave its life to protect Samus. With voice acting and a rich story, players learn the engaging backstory of Samus as she weaves through an action-packed adventure aboard the Bottle Ship, a decommissioned space facility. As she hurtles into this new adventure, Samus will encounter her first mentor and Commanding Officer of the Galactic Federation, Adam Malkovich.
-The development of Metroid: Other M is an exciting collaboration between Nintendo’s Yoshio Sakamoto and Team Ninja. Sakamoto was the director of Super Metroid in 1994. Team Ninja is the renowned action developer of Ninja Gaiden. Metroid: Other M pairs Sakamoto’s expert level design and exploratory focus of the classic Metroid series with Team Ninja’s signature stylish, no-holds-barred action.”
For me personally, it has been years since I’ve played a Metroid game but “Metroid: Other M” has really caught my interest and has given me the itch to get back into the series again. To those that still play on the Wii, if you’re still not sure about this game, check out the trailer below and decide for yourself:

Scott Pilgrim vs The World has only been in theaters for a little than week and even if the numbers in the box office aren’t so hot, the movie is still getting a lot of hype. Just a few days ago, the cast and crew hit up London’s Leicester Square for the UK primere. Many of the fans received autographs and photos from the stars, including Jason Schwartzman, who had more energy than his co-stars, who he hugged and posed with.
This is a little bit of shameless self promotion here however, this is one of those things that I really just want to share with everybody. Just the excitement and the thrill of watching something that you were a part of make it pretty big. The following is a music video that I had the most gracious opportunity to work on. Just small things in this short video that brings good vibes that I’ve experienced on set.
I worked as part of the lighting and grip team on this project. I was also a carpenter on the set. The beach nightclub was not my idea, however I was a big part in building and making the set look authentic. The part in the shack where the walls split, was all me baby. I got the team together to bring it on set and build everything in time to shoot. You may also catch a small glimpse of me acting in this project. Outside the shack I am the drunk man with the sombrero covering his head. Yes. A bit of an LOL but hey! I enjoyed working on this very much, and the final product is what makes me wish that I could be a part of projects like this for a long time, and maybe one day be in charge of putting something together.
Well I hope you enjoy watching as much as I enjoyed working on it.
The last time I talked about Travis Barker working on a solo album was February 22nd; well FINALLY some new news. Just to add a couple more artists…the first single called “Carry It” will feature Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello & Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA. There currently is no set release date but “Can The Drummer Get Some” is expected to be released in September. I’ll have more details as they become available
